She is acknowledged for her interpretations of demanding soprano parts within the opera repertoire on stages throughout Sweden, such as Gilda in Rigoletto, Adina in L’Elisir d’Amore, Violetta in La Traviata, Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, Sandrina in La Finta Giardiniera, Gretel in Hänsel & Gretel, Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier, Euridice in Orfeo & Euridice and Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Maria has recently moved into the coloratura soprano fach, and she is at the moment studying the roles Queen of the Night, Zerbinetta in Ariadne auf Naxos, Ophélie in Hamlet (Thomas), Constanze in Die Entführung aus dem Serail, Tytania in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Britten) and Cunégonde in Candide.
Maria is also specialized in Lieder, chamber music and oratorio music, and is therefore a very frequently engaged concert and recital singer. She has a broad repertoire ranging from baroque to contemporary music.
